Chapter of the Year Award

 In order to recognize those SIE chapters that most vigorously pursue both scholastic and  professional excellence, the SIE National Office is pleased to continue the annual SIE  CHAPTER-OF-THE-YEAR AWARD.  

Each chapter is urged to submit to the National Office an application that includes a portfolio with the following information by the last  business day in May of the current academic year: initiation invitation, announcements  for SIE events, photos of events, major fundraising events, meeting agendas with guest  speakers, etc.   

1. Number of new members initiated during current academic year (25 points)
2. A description of on-going chapter programs designed to enhance the academic aspects of Management, e.g., curriculum counseling, faculty/ student seminars, class projects, local scholarships, etc. (25 points)
3. A description of on-going chapter programs designed to enhance the professional aspects of Management, e.g., field trips, guest lecture series, service projects, career counseling, job internship programs, etc. (25 points)
4.   A description of individual member honors and recognitions, e.g., Dean's List, other university honors and recognitions for outstanding achievement, community  honors, awards presented by other organizations, etc.  (15 points)
5.  A statement describing the future plans of the chapter to accomplish the SIE mission (10 points)

Total Possible Quality Points: 100

The deadline for chapter submissions for the SIE CHAPTER-OF-THE-YEAR AWARD is the last business day of May, of the current academic year. The National Executive Board will review all submissions and  determine the award by assigning quality points as outlined above. The winning chapter will be  presented a professional plaque for display at its host college or university. In addition, the  National Office will present a $500 cash grant for the chapter's use in enhancing and promoting  its programs
